For well over two centuries, the Hudson’s Bay Point Blanket has been an iconic product in Canada and around the world. Hudson’s Bay Company has commissioned these fine English-made woolen blankets since 1780, many becoming heirlooms that are passed on from one generation to the next. The points, or small black bars on the side of the blanket, were utilized during the fur trade as an indication of size - a measure that continues to this day.
A light grey blanket was originally produced under contract for the army during WW1. The colour was added to the standard colours not long afterward. A darker version was reintroduced in 2000 as one of two new designs launched to mark the new millennium
